Lesson 53: This Too Shall Pass

This means that good and bad things in life are temporary and do not last forever because everything in this life passes on and you are in control of your future regardless of what happened to you in the past!

A Persian king asked his wise men to create a ring that would make him happy when he was sad so they made him a ring with the Persian words “This too shall pass”.

By the way, King Solomon also used to wear a ring that said, “This too shall pass”.

Abraham Lincoln had a terrible childhood, two of his sons died, he lost a lot of elections and he suffered great bouts of depression throughout his life.

But, it was because of his suffering and that he never gave up that he understood the wisdom of this phrase and spoke of it often to comfort him throughout his life.
