Lesson 66: Personal Struggles Are Our Best Teacher

Helen Keller said that we learn our most valuable lessons when we struggle with our challenges instead of avoiding them,

Practicing the same notes on the piano over and over again is a struggle when there is something more fun to do live playing video games.

But, if you delay your gratification and struggle to practice your piano scales for 10 extra minutes each day you will improve.

Here’s how to improve faster than most other people.

If you are supposed to practice your piano for half an hour a day, 6 days a week and you want to reach your potential, practice 10 extra minutes each day.

10 extra minutes a day, times 6 days a week (take Sunday off) is an additional hour each week and four additional hours each month.

Four hours a month times 12 months is forty-eight hours a year.

I promise you, you will be much better at playing the piano than you would have if you practiced an additional forty-eight hours in a year.
