Lesson Eleven: What Is Neural Plasticity

About 120 years ago, in his book “The Principles of Psychology,” William James discussed the concept of neuroplasticity without a full understanding of its nature.

Approximately 80 years ago, psychologist Donald Hebb, who began to grasp the concept of neuroplasticity better, coined the phrase, “Neurons that fire together wire together.”

Around 20 years ago, at the start of the 21st century, advancements in brain imaging technology provided concrete evidence supporting the concept of neuroplasticity.

Because you were born in the 21st century, you have an incredible opportunity to learn about the truly remarkable power of neuroplasticity and how it rewires your brain every time you seek to acquire new knowledge or achieve something new.
